The DOD LS460W entered the market when standards had already been set high by the predecessors, like the LS430W or even the LS300W. Though it is true that there has not been much difference, it can be said it tops the market at present. Though there are newer versions like the 470W or the 470W+, this variant captures better videos. It can be considered that the DOD LS460W is the best choice from the brand at present. The night video capturing quality has received some excellent improvements considered to what was available previously. It records excellent videos during the day.
The bracket mount of the camera gets a GPS microchip which is updated every 5 seconds. This means that you would get a highly accurate speed reading on the video footage. The camera is accompanied by a 2.7″ screen which supports different modes during driving. There is an interesting feature of the device which can give you an over-speed warning. This speed can be set previously in your favourite unit – mph or km/h.
The device comes with a time-lapse function. Thus recordings can be made at 10 fps, 2 or 1 fps according to your choosing. The default is 30 fps. This feature is helpful when you do not need many details in the parking mode. The LS460W accepts 64GB SDXC cards, but it even accepts 128GB cards as well. A 128 GB card would allow you to store data for more than 16 hours.
The dash cam supports auto on/off features, loop recording and G-sensor with impact detection. There is an emergency button which can help you save footage from being overwritten. You can even put in a password to prevent unauthorized access. The circular polarizing filter improves the video quality in bright sunlight.
