The Aukey DR02 is a dashboard camera that features two cameras. There is a primary unit for recording in the front and a secondary camera for recording in the rear. The video is recorded simultaneously from both cameras in 1080p. Both the cameras use Sony Exmor sensors. The nighttime performance is quite good. One of the best things about this camera is the ultra wide-angle vision – 170 degrees in the front and 152 degrees in the rear. Thus vehicle movements in the front, the sides as well as rear can be found. You can perform Emergency Recording automatically during unexpected driving incidents. The recordings are also protected. The Loop Recording continuously overwrites the old and unwanted footage.
The camera along with the video and power cables, the USB adapter, the mounting plates, the instructions and the cable clips arrive in a nice box. The device accepts a 128 GB card which means that the recording would take place for quite some time. The main camera does not work singly without the rear camera. The entire camera setup would power up as soon as all the connections are made. The rear-facing camera has bulky and inflexible strain reliefs and routing them is quite challenging.
The videos are quite crisp and clear in most of the instances. However, there would be occasions with the screen locking up and displays showing corrupted files. Also, it does not work properly with all the SD cards. The camera is quite small and compact yet powerful. The dual cameras keep rolling all the time and record all the instances where you get bullied on the roads. The device is also not that pricey and offers good value for money.
